Free · Weekly · ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini
Know every week whether AI recommends you.
Pick up to three shopping prompts and up to three rivals. Every week we ask them in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini and email you who got named, where you fell, and what changed since last week.
Shelf Watch opens soon.
Until then, the AI Shelf Check gives you a one-off report on whether AI recommends you or your rivals, within 24 hours.
How Shelf Watch works
What does Shelf Watch check?
- Every week it asks your shopping prompts in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini with web search on, as a US shopper. For each answer it records whether your brand is named, where it falls among the brands you track, whether your own site is one of the sources, and which of your rivals are named. The email shows what changed since last week.
Is this what shoppers see in the ChatGPT app?
- Close, not identical. Shelf Watch asks each assistant's API, which uses a set model and web search but no shopper history or location beyond "United States". The apps personalise and change by the day. Read one week as a sample and the trend over several weeks as the signal.
Why does an answer change from week to week?
- Assistants are non-deterministic: the same question can get different picks on different runs, and their search results shift as pages change. That's why Shelf Watch tracks the same prompts every week rather than giving a one-off score, and why we never promise a placement.
What do you do with my prompts and results?
- We store them to compare each week with the last, and we never publish a named brand's results. Stopping the watch is one click in any weekly email. Signing up doesn't put you on a sales sequence; the newsletter is a separate, unticked box.
How is this different from the AI Shelf Check?
- The AI Shelf Check is a one-off report an operator puts together for your category, with a read on why rivals win. Shelf Watch is automated and recurring: your own prompts, every week, so you can see whether changes to your catalog and content move the answers.
Want the category view? The AI Shelf Index asks the same 30 shopping prompts every month across ten categories and publishes which brands each assistant recommends.
