No. SEO ranks pages; GEO informs AI-generated answers. The work overlaps (schema matters in both), but the optimisation targets differ — AI engines weight citation-from-authority and structured-data density far more heavily than Google ranks them.

ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Amazon Rufus. We measure all five in every engagement, and add new engines as they reach measurable shopping intent.
Can you guarantee a citation?
No, and nobody honest can. We guarantee the work, the measurement, and the iterative loop. In 9 of 12 GEO pilots run across GigaCommerce and our sibling brand Gigabit, citation rate moved from baseline by day 60. The other three were in low-intent categories — we recommended a pause and refunded month 2.
How is this different from "AI SEO" agencies on LinkedIn?
